AMASE stands for Affordable Multiple Aperture Spectroscopy Explorer. It is a planned project to spectroscopically map the interstellar medium of the Milky Way and nearby galaxies with high spectral resolution and high physical resolution. 
AMASE-P is the prototype of AMASE.
